Why is Data Breach management needed?

In recent decades, Data Security has remained a significant domain. As data is being traversed, there are chances of misuse. This demand has risen worldwide due to persistent data breaches.

According to the 2022 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, ransomware-related breaches increased by 13 percent in 2021—a greater increase than the past five years combined. That rise continues into 2022, as many breach stories continue to show.
In 2021, it was hard to find a cybersecurity headline that didn’t somehow pertain to ransomware. It impacted some 80% of businesses last year and threatened some of the institutions most critical to our society, from primary and secondary schools to hospitals. Additionally, IBM’s Cost of a Data Breach Report suggested that a company has about a 30% chance of experiencing a breach in a given year.

According to the recent Guidelines by CERT-In, organizations must report Breaches within the six-hour window. These include malware and ransomware attacks; identity theft, spoofing, and phishing attacks; and data breaches and data leaks.

Having a data breach management plan in place ensures that the right personnel and procedures are in place to effectively deal with a threat. Data breaches affect everyone in an organization. Companies must ensure that data is adequately protected to prevent loss or theft. As part of Compliance with GDPR Principles, Data Breach Management is a mandate
